Following the report of a pair of Common Terns back in the Lower Derwent Valley recently, our team relaunched the tern rafts last week for another season, and we’re now pleased to say that the pair have already taken up residency on one of the rafts on the pool at Wheldrake.

Welcome to the LDV NNR ringing blog, this blog is designed to share the experiences, findings and tales from a group of dedicated ringers. We specialise in conservation orientated research projects, largely focusing on wildfowl, waders, owls and birds of conservation concern, in and around the Vale of York NNR's.
NB - Whilst the purpose of this blog was initially designed to cover our nationally important wildfowl ringing activities, it now also features wildlife and work posts, explaining how we manage the NNR for both wildlife and people.
For daily sightings please visit our Twitter account: https://twitter.com/ldv_nnr (@LDV_NNR)

Invisible illnesses are real and exhausting and some people don't seem to understand. The word phrase" You don't look sick" hit harder. It sounds incredibly tough and exhausting, both physically and mentally. Dealing with a severe flare up, the endless waiting for proper diagnosis and treatment, and the toll it takes on our headspace... that's a heavy load, and it's completely valid to feel like you're running on empty. These conditions — whether autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, fatigue syndromes, attack silently. They don't always show up as visible scars, wheelchairs, or obvious signs, which makes the dismissal ("You look fine," "Just push through," or "A nap won't fix that") even more painful and isolating.
ReplyDeleteWhen my immediate younger sister was diagnosed with MS, she did everything she was told, including weekly Avonex injections -and she continued to get sicker.
Her life changed almost by accident when she was pushed into natural healing through Deborah Herbal Healing Home. It took her 1 year and 8 months but as she changed how she ate, fasted, cleansed, and supported her body, things shifted. It wasn't overnight, but it happened in ways she was told were impossible. She haven't been bothered by MS for 8 years now. Today, at 58, she feels stronger, calmer, and more alive. I would highly recommend if you are going through any autoimmune disease.
